"Fracking," the process of hydraulic fracturing for natural gas speculation, is causing untold millions of dollars in private property damage and damage to the environment. According to the US Geological Survey, Kansas is an area affected hard, experiencing 127 earthquakes in 2015 alone. During 2014, the Kansas Geological Survey recorded only four inside the state.
The practice of injecting waste water into the ground to prospect for natural gas reserves, known as "fracking", is used most frequently by fossil fuel giant the Koch Industries. Recently, in a rare move, the Kansas Corporation Commission even asked the Koch Brothers to kindly refrain from fracking, at least in two critical counties on the Oklahoma border. The commissions request is not binding.
Only one 2016 presidential candidate has even addressed the problem of fracking to the nation's environment and infrastructure and he has done so by calling for an immediate nation-wide moratorium on fracking. Andrew D. Basiago, Washington lawyer and government whistle-blower is proposing an immediate and permanent ban on all fracking activities in Kansas, and across the country.
"The president should ban fracking because it is harmful to the climate; it is not part of the transition to solar, wind and other alternative energy sources." said Basiago in his 100 proposals called a new agenda for a new America. "...(fracking) consumes vast amounts of water, contaminates land, air and water; causes earthquakes, puts arsenic into the ground water table; and doesn't benefit the people."
Some Kansans concerned with fracking have rallied behind candidate Basiago, organizing Kansas for Andrew Basiago 2016 with a KFAB facebook group to organize the 5,000 petition signatures necessary to place Basiago on the 2016 Kansas ballot.
"Fracking is a serious problem, clearly earthquakes in Kansas are up over 1000% this year. That should tell voters something," said Joel Bales, KFAB organizer and environmental activist.
"I have over $14,000 worth of damage to my home," said Wichita resident and fracking opponent Lori Lawrence. "My house is shaking and I have damage. We are experiencing living in a state where the rights, property values, and fears of citizens in the fracking zones are ignored. Because you and I are not as important to the Legislature as the fracking industry."
One Colorado land owner who benefits from a monthly royalty check from the gas company placed the issue in perspective stating,"While I like the monthly royalty checks, (although they've dropped from around $700 to $500)... it doesn't come close to paying for me and my neighbors' property damage. They cut the biggest tree in the county down to frack here. Water doesn't run down the mountains anymore. My pond is dry."
KFAB encourages all registered voters in Kansas who are also concerned with the consequences of :"fracking" to sign the petition to place candidate Basiago on the 2016 Kansas ballot.

‘Joke’ candidate, no joke: Kansas confirms Basiago has support
‘Joke’ candidate, no joke: Kansas confirms Basiago has support
KANSAS – Earlier dismissed as a ‘joke candidate’ by the Huffington
Post as one among a peculiar group of unlikely, comical and apolitical candidate
personalities also seeking the highest office in the land this election cycle; government whistle blower and lawyer, Andrew
D. Basiago is tracking in Kansas.
Truly interested voters learning state law in Kansas (KSA25-303) that allows for the citizenry of the state to garner, collect and
present a signature petition of 5,000 registered voters by August 1, 2016 to
secure an alternative candidate, have
taken it up to circulate a written petition on-line via a facebook page to include Independent candidate Andrew D. Basiago on the 2016 Kansas ballot;
Voters organizing as Kansas for Andrew Basiago (KFAB) and beginning
with a Facebook page are linking to the official Kansas FORM to encourage
voters to print Basiago’s petition to be included on the November ballot,
circulate Basiago’s web site to educate voters while collecting signatures on
the petitions asking only we offer voters of Kansas an alternative choice.
KFAB organizer Joel Bales said, “I think the idea of a Basiago presidency appeals to my generation
because he considers future generations first. I think once voters take
the time to actually listen to Basiago’s vision and consider the benefits of making aBasiago presidency reality – it’s a no-brainer. I can gladly sign my name to
include Andrew Basiago on my state’s ballot.”
Once the petition has
reached 5,000 registered voters signatures Basiago will be considered the
Independent candidate, an alternative choice to Sanders, Trump or Clinton then having ‘won’ the Kansas
primary; thus the deadline is also August 1, 2016 to present the petition to
the Kansas Secretary of State by noon.
“I think there are more than 5,000 Kansans just like me who
both want to see an alternative candidate and are really impressed to support
Basiago’s New Agenda for a New America.”
Petition organizers are encouraged to volunteer in their
families and communities by downloading the Basiago 2016 Petition to be
included for consideration on the Kansas
ballot this November and contacting KFAB facebook group to begin coordination of actual petitions,

months. Deadline for signature petition for Andrew Basiago in Kansas in August 1, 2016.

KFAB launches state-wide petition to put Basiago on November ballot
"I, the undersigned,_______________an elector of the appropriate election district, and state of Kansas, and a duly registered voter, hereby nominate the candidate herein named to be voted for at the primary election to be held on the first Tuesday in August in the year 2016."
That simple sentence with the signature of no less than 5,000 signatures of registered voter in Kansas will help Kansans join her sister states in breaking away from the two-party politics of Democrats and Republicans by including Independent candidate Andrew Basiago on the state's November ballot.
According to KSA 25-303 write-in candidates for the office of the President of the United States may be printed on the ballot when 5,000 registered Kansas voters petition the Director of Elections and Secretary of State by the primary deadline of August 1, 2016. Because there is a highly qualified, albeit little known Independent candidate running for the office this year - many Kansans intend to do exactly that.
Kansas for Andrew Basiago (KFAB) is a small grass roots organization recently founded to help educate voters about Dr. Basiago's candidacy and his vision for America.
By organizing a four month long petition drive between now and August 1st; KFAB plans to present Kansas Secretary of State Chris Kobach and Director of Elections Brian Caskey 5,000 petition signatures of registered voters in Kansas on Monday August 1, 2016. The 5,000 petition signatures will act as the candidate's primary, thus allowing Independent candidate Andrew Basiago to be included in the contest with both the eventual Republican and Democratic nominees later this November.
"Voters say they want an alternative choice for president, and now they can have it simply by participating in this signature petition to include Andrew Basiago on November's ballot," KFAB organizer Joel Bales said. "Win or lose, by including Andrew Basiago in the contest - we will still all win."
Andrew Basiago has been a leader in the truth movement since coming forward as a victim of the formerly secret US space time program, Project Pegasus. Both Basiago's involuntary involvement as a child research subject in covert programs that exploited children for the military and Basiago's disclosures that a secret human colony on the planet MARS began as early as 1967 with 97,000 American colonists, has naturally garnered international attention and raised awkward questions.
"Dr. Basiago has demonstrated courage, leadership and an ability to represent my generation and future generations in ways I never before considered possible," KFAB founder and petition organizer Joel Bales said. "He registered with the FEC and has shared his awesome vision. Now; it's our turn; we the people must organize our individual states' participation through our various state laws and electoral processes to move forward. In Kansas, it requires 5,000 petition signatures of registered voters. I think we will witness not only Independents like myself, but Republican and Democrats signing this same petition too. It's right on all principals and a fun way to be involved in the political process and I am confident there are 5,000 Kansans with common sense."
Bales will be accepting signature petitions in the mail in addition to coordinating with other voters through the state in collecting signatures for the petition to include Andrew Basiago on the Kansas ballot. KFAB encourages all interested voters participate in supporting the petition drive.
KFAB plans to present Kansas Director of Elections Brian Caskey the signature petition during a live press conference August 1st at 11AM in Topeka, Kansas announcing the same.
